Whats our Story?

A long time ago, in a small kitchen nestled in the Italian hills, a stove was bubbling with sauce as morsels of meat were being prepared with meticulous precision, inspired creativity, and the pursuit of culinary perfection that would satisfy the entire family….

Okay, so it wasn’t as dramatic as all of that. We will say that Natale Grande’s Flying Meatballs are based on his grandmother’s recipe (we know….everyone says that but ours are for real). Using traditional flavors from the old country with 100% natural meats and today’s green methods, Natale’s mission is to provide comforting foods with amazing flavors and the best ingredients available.

Natale’s respect and ardor for and sharing awesome food is definitely genetic. Parents Antonio and Clara Grande have been serving fine Italian fare to the public since 1976, from their first restaurant Bel’ Vedere to their current Il Capriccio Ristorante. Mom and Papa are still very much involved, from serving up specials to creating exciting catering options. Just when you thought family couldn’t get any more involved, Natale’s sister, Teresa, is the creator of Flying Fit Meals, our custom designed meal prep. Teresa and her father work closely to custom design and prepare a personal menu tailored to fit each client's individual needs. At The Flying Meatball Marketplace, we love to share good food with everyone. So if you need a catering order for a special event, a sandwich delivery for the office lunch, or food items for loved ones with dietary restrictions, we’re here to save the day. We get that life is busy and good food is hard to come by. Heck, if we wouldn’t eat it, we sure wouldn’t serve it. So that’s why we landed in July 2014: to prepare and serve good food you can trust. Mission accepted.

Antonio Grande


The owner and head chef of Il Capriccio, Tony Grande received his culinary training in his native Italy at the renowned ENALC. From the beginning it was clear that Tony’s passion and creative flair for creating high quality dishes would lead him to be a star. From his start as First Chef at Hotel Europa in Foppolo, Tony became Chef de Partie at La Fenice in Venice, moving on to impress as First Chef in the Hotel Piccolo in Lago de Garda. Tony’s insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to cook internationally before landing on American shores on July 13, 1973.

Clara Grande


Hailing from the provence of Salerno, Italy, Clara arrived in the United States on December 30, 1970. As an immigrant, her work ethic and indomitable spirit prevailed. Self-supporting as a teenager, she worked as an Avon lady and as a sales associate for a catalogue company. She then met and married the love of her life, Antonio Grande.

Teresa Grande

Wellness Coach/Owner

Teresa, a graduate of Drew University, is the pastry chef at Il Capriccio and also provides her delectable treats at her mother’s gourmet grocery, La Famiglia. Prior to satisfying her client’s sweet teeth, Teresa worked professionally as a personal trainer for ten years. After years spent transforming people’s mind and bodies, Teresa sought to challenge herself yet again. Determined to recreate the art of pastry making, she frequently approached her mother with dessert ideas and creations of her own with the vision of delighting the taste buds of all walks of life.
